Hi

My name is Alex Harrington and I work as Assistant IT Manager at Longhill High School near Brighton, East Sussex.

I came to be interested in Linux when the then IT Manager showed me the server that SIMS was to be hosted on (a Slackware 3.2 IIRC box) and my enthusiasm grew from there.

I now help to manage an extensive hetrogenous network (Windows fat clients with Linux backend servers) for the school. Part of my work involves Linux/Windows integration - specifically around Exchange server and I have written software for Exchange to enable remote administration via our centralised web administration application REG.
