Hi.

I'm Antony Stone, I'm one of the founding members of the Open Source Consortium, and I manage a number of the techno-administrative things for the OSC, such as its mailing lists.

I've been working with Linux and Open Source software since 1994, and actively using it in business solutions for customers since 1997.

My main technical area of expertise is in networking and security systems - I have an M.Sc. in Information Security from Royal Holloway, University of London, and I now teach network security systems as an external lecturer for that course.

I run my own Open Source consultancy Open Source IT, and I am also an associate with The Sirius Corporation.

I've published a number of articles and given several presentations on the use of Open Source software, for which I believe the main benefits are freedom, performance, reliability and support.

I'm very keen to see the increased use of Open Source software in UK schools, because I think it's a better solution than most proprietary offerings, and the cost savings make a particularly important difference in the educational sector.
