Is any of this floss?

Wine is FLOSS, and so the solution is a FLOSS one, even if the Windows package is proprietary. I think Wine deserves a mention because it can be life-saver in situations where a Windows package is considered a "must-have". Also, a lot of work has been done to test which proprietary educational packages work with Wine, and this knowledge should be documented.

There aren't that many UK schools using FLOSS, and for sure none of them have adopted Richard Stallman's high-principled stance about refusing to use any proprietary software.
