Schoolforge-UK:Plans for this site
From Schoolforge-UK
An earlier page describes the background discussions that led to this site. Anticipating increased interest in FLOSS after May 2005, we have decided to remodel the site to place the emphasis on support rather than campaigning.

Who is the site is addressed to?
The site should be aimed at a wide range of visitors from all backgrounds in UK education:
- Governors, Headmasters and other decision-makers, looking for information about FLOSS
- ICT Co-ordinators and Network Managers, seeking technical advice
- ICT Teachers and Subject teachers, looking for FLOSS resources
What is the overall purpose of the site?
To help anyone seeking to implement FLOSS in education by linking quickly to the information they require.
What do we want visitors to know, do, or believe, out of visiting the site?
- Decision-makers should quickly find information about the advantages and requirements of FLOSS, and links to further resources, including companies that can help them. They should leave the site feeling encouraged to return whenever they need to know more.
- ICT staff should quickly find the technical resources they need to implement FLOSS, either in pages in the site, or via links to other sites. They should feel the site is supported by knowledgeable people, and be encouraged to contribute by adding their own experience via wiki pages or forum discussions
- Teachers should quickly find links to resources they are looking for, and be encouraged to add links of their own, as well as reviews of existing resources.
How much effort is the site likely to involve?
Umm... Let's break out the components:
- Front page - it's been suggested that a static front page will present more links and a clearer sense of structure to the underlying material, which should continue in wiki form. What about using Becta's "Conceptual Architecture" for the top-level structure?
